
- January 30, 2012 - Nicholas Lazzarini wins before the California Court of Appeal, 3rd Dist. in the matter of Ruth Dunmore v Sidney B. Dunmore. In the appeal, the Court of Appeal affirmed the trial court's judgment allowing the assignment of legal and equitable claims by the mother, Ruth Dunmore. Nick is presently handling the George Dunmore probate case. The firm is handling a variety of Dunmore matters.
- October 16, 2011 - Kenrick Young successfully negotiates an out-of-court workout for a shopping center in Folsom, California. Mr. Young first filed a Chapter 11 to prevent an imminent foreclosure. In the Chapter 11, an agreement was reached to settle and dismiss the Chapter 11 case. The dismissal and settlement was approved by the bankruptcy court. While the terms of the settlement are confidential, a substantial reduction in principal was obtained. In re Oak Song, LLC, USBC EDC 10-39123.
- October 5, 2011 - Kenrick Young successfully defends against a fraudulent transfer action by a Chapter 11 Debtor/ Plaintiff that sued for over $250,000 in transfers. The Plaintiff had litigated and won 4 other similar cases. Mr. Young was the only attorney that was successful in defeating Plaintiff. The Court ordered that Plaintiff take nothing from Mr. Young's client following a 3-day bench trial in front of Judge Russell. OccMeds v. Clearview Medical, USBC EDC Adv Proc 09-2579.
- October 1, 2011 - Kenrick Young successfully defends against a Chapter 7 trustee's claim objection, and the Court allows an amended claim for $687,126.56 for breach of contract and fraud. After the Chapter 7 trustee filed their claim objection to Dr. Sheikh's claim for $333,000, Mr. Young was brought in as a replacement attorney. Mr. Young immediately amended the claim to nearly double the amount and then successfully defeated the claim objection. In re Bruce Seymour, USBC EDC 06-24791.
- September 21, 2011 - The firm successfully defends against a second summary judgment motion brought by Fannie Mae in a 523 adversary proceeding. Fannie Mae v. Tony Akinsete, USBC EDC Adv Proc 09-2769.
- March 1, 2011 - Kenrick Young obtains a nondischargeable judgment for $57,419 under 11 U.S.C. § 523(a)(4) against a lessee that failed to return a leased forklift. North American Financial v. Fleeman, USBC EDC Adv Proc. 10-2111
- March 1, 2011 - Jeffrey Meisner wins a summary judgment and is awarded fees and costs. The matter initially involved a breach of contract that led to cross-complaints involving probate issues. The result of this success was to obtain a final resolution of the matter for our client and an award of fees and costs. First Mutual v. Medina, San Bernardino Superior Court, CIVDS901603.
- February 11, 2011 - The United States Bankruptcy Court determines a $129,234.57 debt to be nondischargeable under 11 U.S.C. § 523 after a bench trial. Kenrick Young represented the successful plaintiff, Asiatech. In addition, the Court awards plaintiff fees and costs for the litigation. In a 14-page memorandum decision, the Court determined that the Defendant had made a false representation in a written financial statement with an intent to deceive. Asiatech Management v. - February 1, 2011 - The United States Bankruptcy Court approves Mr. Young's motion for sale of substantially all of the assets of the debtor (a going concern) to the highest bidder in a major warehouse and packaging Chapter 11 reorganization. In re APDS, USBC EDC 10-43901.
- December 26, 2010 - Kenrick Young confirms a Chapter 11 plan for a high net worth debtor. In re Carl Nelson, USBC EDC 09-29837
- December 9, 2010 - Kenrick Young is elected as President of the Sacramento County Bar Association, Bankruptcy and Commercial law section.
- November 23, 2010 - Kenrick Young, representing the Debtor, successfully defends against a remanded objection to claim of exemption by Skadden Arps. The 9th Circuit Bankruptcy Appellate Panel ordered the case of Tyner v. Aceituno, et al. (In re Nicholson), ___ B.R. ___, 2010 WL 3312590 (9th Cir. BAP 2010) to be published. On remand, Judge Bardwil agreed with Mr. Young and again overruled the objection. In re Nicholson, USBC EDC 09-24547.
- November 9, 2010 - Kenrick Young wins a contested motion to stay civil adversary proceedings in a bankruptcy court for the duration of a criminal proceeding. In the ruling, the Bankruptcy Court agreed with Mr. Young and distinguished the situation at hand from two (2) Ninth Circuit cases where the request for a stay was denied. Smith v. - September 3, 2010 - Kenrick Young will be speaking at the Sacramento County Bar Association, Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Section at the September 15, 2010 luncheon on the topic: "Creditor's Rights and Pitfalls in Bankruptcy."
- September 1, 2010 - Kenrick Young wins an adversary proceeding against Bank of the West and recharacterized a leased dry cleaner machine as a security interest and then avoided the security interest as unperfected. The Debtor was able to keep the machine without paying the Bank. The Bank was left only with an unsecured claim. In re Choi, USBC EDC Adv. Proc. 10-2288.
- August 30, 2010 - Kenrick Young appears pro hac vice and obtains a $42,778.63 administrative claim settlement in a Delaware Bankruptcy Court for a Nevada County landlord after the Chapter 11 debtor defaulted on a lease. In re SC Liquidating Company, LLC, USBC Del. 09-12623.
- August 18, 2010 - Kenrick Young spoke at a National Business Institute seminar entitled "Nuts and Bolts of Bankruptcy Law" on the topic of the automatic stay and bankruptcy filings.

- July 26, 2010 - Kenrick Young is brought in as replacement counsel and successfully defends against a motion for summary judgment that sought issue preclusion in bankruptcy court, despite the fact that such creditor already obtained a judgment in state court. - July 14, 2010 - Kenrick Young records a 1-hour lecture on the topic of Advanced Bankruptcy and Creditor's Rights that will be released by Access MCLE.

- December 17, 2009 - Mr. Young successfully settles a breach of commercial lease (23,000 sq ft warehouse and office lease) dispute on the appellate level. The Debtor previously employed two attorneys (including one from Harvard) to litigate the dispute without avail. Mr. Young was the third attorney to assist and filed an appeal. Mr. Young then successfully negotiated a settlement on favorable terms with the Landlord resulting in the dismissal of the appeal. - August 5, 2009 - Mr. Young obtains a judgment for nondischargeability in First Mutual Sales Finance v. Marie Ann Heard, USBC CDC Adv. Proc. 09-1332.
- August 4, 2009 - The United States Bankruptcy Court, Eastern District grants Mr. Young's motion for sanctions against the California State Board of Equalization. The Court awarded Mr. Young's attorneys fees and ordered a return of the Debtor's funds taken by the SBE in violation of stay. In re Mark R Wood, USBC EDC 09-31021
